Zinc oxide ZnO is an inorganic compound and an oxide of zinc. It exists as a white powder at room temperature, with a melting point of 1975°C and a density of 5.606g/cm³. Insoluble in water and ethanol but soluble in acids and strong bases, ZnO is widely used as a chemical additive in plastics, rubber, lubricants, paints, ointments and more.
