Product Description
Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is an organic compound with the formula C24H38O4. It is a transparent oil-like liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in general organic solvents. Dioctyl terephthalate is a good plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. Compared with the commonly used diisooctyl phthalate (DOP), it has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, volatile resistance, extraction resistance, softness and electrical insulation properties, and shows excellent durability, soap resistance and low softness and softness in the product.
Plasticizer application:
DOTP is widely used as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics, especially in cable materials and soft PVC products. Compared with the commonly used diisooctyl phthalate (DOP), DOTP has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, volatile resistance, extraction resistance, softness and good electrical insulation properties.
The low volatility of DOTP makes it able to meet the temperature rating requirements of wire and cable, especially for 70C cable materials (in line with the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC standard).
It can also be used as a plasticizer for synthetic rubber, coating additive, precision instrument lubricant, lubricant additive, and paper softener.
Specific applications:
In cable lines, DOTP is used for its temperature resistance, which can withstand up to 70C.
DOTP can also be used for PVC products such as carpets, floor MATS, fireproof rolls, soles, artificial leather, conveyor belts, rain shoes, injection products, rolled products, etc., to reduce the cost of PVC products has an ideal effect.
In summary, dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) has a wide range of applications in the plastics industry, especially in the plasticizer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics, which is favored for its excellent properties and wide compatibility.
