Terpinyl acetate naturally exists in a variety of essential oils, such as cypress wood oil, pine needle oil, melaleuca oil, cardamom oil and so on. It is colorless to slightly yellow liquid, accompanied by lemon, lavender aroma. Commercially produced by the acetylation of terpinol with acetic anhydride catalyzed by sulfuric acid at slightly above room temperature.
Terpinyl acetate can be used to prepare flavors of peach, plum, apricot, raspberry, cherry, pomelo, medium, sage, cardamom, spice and citrus. It can also be used as lavender, lemon, forest, Fougi and other aromas.
