Sodium tripolyphosphate, is an inorganic compound, chemical formula Na5P3O10, is an amorphous water-soluble linear polyphosphate, often used in food, as a water retention agent, quality improver, pH regulator, metal chelating agent.
Sodium tripolyphosphate has two crystalline states: type I (high temperature type) and type II (low temperature type). The difference is that the bond length and bond Angle of the two are different, the chemical properties of the two are the same, but the thermal stability and hygroscopicity of type I is higher than that of type II.
Sodium tripolyphosphates are used in detergents, as additives, soap synergists and prevent bar soap crystallization and frosting, industrial water softener, tannery pre-tanning agent, dyeing agent, oil well mud control agent, paper oil pollution prevention agent, paint, kaolin, magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate and other suspension treatment effective dispersant.
