Zinc methionine, also known as zinc methionine chelate and organic zinc methionine, is a chelate with a ring structure formed by the interaction of inorganic zinc and methionine, and is a trace element supplement close to the natural form of animals.
Zinc is one of the essential trace elements in animal body, and it is the component of many metalloenzymes . It is called "life element" because it has a wide range of physiological and biochemical functions in the body.

Physical and chemical properties
White liquid powder, good fluidity, uniform no caking, with a special smell of methionine. It is insoluble in water and ethanol, but soluble in dilute acid and dilute base. The divalent zinc cation forms coordination bonds with the oxygen with negative charge of the carbonyl group in amino acid and the electron donor amino group, and multiple coordination can satisfy the coordination number and valency of zinc ion at the same time. The formation of coordination bonds is that the compound forms one or two five-membered rings, and the tension between the bonds in the five-membered ring structure is the smallest among cyclic compounds. Therefore, it has good chemical and biochemical stability.
