Menthol is a kind of terpene, the main component of peppermint and peppermint essential oil. It exists in free state and ester state, colorless needle-like crystals or particles. It is the 8 isomers of menthol, and their fragrance properties are different. Menthol has a mint aroma and cooling effect.Menthol also has a cooling effect. They are commonly used in cosmetics, perfumes, ointments, throat lozenges, toothpaste, mouthwashes, chewing gum, sprays or cooling body products, shampoos, shaving creams, and cooling gels. Since menthol crystals are concentrated products, only a very small amount of menthol is required. The content of good menthol crystals is usually not less than 99%.
