Stability 1. Light calcium carbonate: amorphous powder, tasteless and odorless. Slightly hygroscopic, stable in dry air, decomposed by acid. Heavy calcium carbonate: white powder, odorless and tasteless. Stable in air. Almost insoluble in water, slightly soluble in water containing ammonium salts or ferric oxide. It will boil and dissolve in dilute acetic acid, dilute hydrochloric acid, etc., and release carbon dioxide and generate calcium oxide when heated. Its activity is greater than that of ordinary calcium carbonate and has reinforcing properties. Active calcium carbonate: easy to disperse in the rubber material, which can improve the reinforcing properties. Calcium carbonate is divided into light calcium carbonate, heavy calcium carbonate and colloidal calcium carbonate. The particle size of light calcium carbonate is about 5μm.
