Zinc oxide, is an inorganic compound, chemical formula ZnO, molecular weight of 81.39g/mol, is a white solid, is a form of zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is insoluble in water, ethanol, soluble in acid, aqueous solution, ammonium chloride, is a commonly used chemical additive, widely used in plastics, silicate products, synthetic rubber, lubricating oil, paints and coatings, ointment, adhesive, food, batteries, flame retardants and other products in the production. Zinc oxide has large band gap and exciton binding energy, high transparency, excellent room temperature luminous performance, and is used in liquid crystal displays, thin film transistors, light-emitting diodes and other products in the semiconductor field. Zinc oxide is also an important sunscreen because it absorbs ultraviolet radiation. In addition, microgranular zinc oxide as a nanomaterial has also been applied in related fields.
Zinc oxide can be used for:
Feed nutrient fortifiers, nutritional supplements (zinc fortifiers);
Reinforcing agent for rubber or cables to endow rubber with good corrosion resistance, tear resistance and elasticity, vulcanization activator for natural rubber, colorant and filler for white rubber;
Fine particles (with a particle size of about 0.1μm) can be used as light stabilizers for plastics such as polyolefins or polyvinyl chloride.
Pigments for paint and fillers for rubber;
It is used in medicine to make ointments, zinc pastes, plasters, etc.
Matrices of analytical reagents, reference reagents, fluorescent agents and photosensitive materials;
Electrostatic wet copying, dry transfer, laser fax communication, electrostatic records of electronic computers and electrostatic plate-making files;
In the determination of manganese by REDOX volumetric method, it is used to precipitate easily digestible elements in salts such as iron, chromium, vanadium, titanium and zirconium, and is used as an absorbent for hydrogen sulfide.
