Sodium tripolyphosphate, is an inorganic compound, chemical formula Na5P3O10, is an amorphous water-soluble linear polyphosphate, often used in food, as a water retention agent, quality improver, pH regulator, metal chelating agent.
Sodium tripolyphosphate has two crystalline states: type I (high temperature type) and type II (low temperature type). The difference is that the bond length and bond Angle of the two are different, the chemical properties of the two are the same, but the thermal stability and hygroscopicity of type I is higher than that of type II.
Sodium tripolyphosphates have chelating, suspension, dispersion, gelatinization, emulsification, pH buffer and other functions, and can be used as the main additives of synthetic detergent, industrial water softener, leather pre-tanning agent, dyeing agent, organic synthesis catalyst, pharmaceutical industry dispersant and food additives. In addition to the export of STPP, domestic STPP consumption is mainly concentrated in the detergent industry, food, ceramics and so on.
