WS-12 has a mint-like cooling flavor and can be used as a cooling flavor enhancer for oral care products, as well as for chewing gum and children's candies. It can also be used as a cooling agent for skin and lip balms.

The chemical name of WS-12 is N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-piperonyl-3-carboxamide, with the CAS number 68489-09-8. Its molecular formula is C18H27NO2 and the molecular weight is 289.416. It is a white crystalline powder with a melting point of 179-183ºC.

WS-12 can be used in cosmetics as a cooling agent for the skin and lipsticks; as a cooling flavor enhancer in perfumes; as a cooling agent in chewing gum and children's candies in the food industry; in oral care products; and can also be used as an ingredient in air fresheners and insect repellents.
