Disodium hydrogen phosphate can be used as a water softener, fabric weighting agent, fire retardant, and is also applied in glazes, fluxes, medicine, pigments, the food industry, and the production of other phosphates. Emulsifier quality improver, nutrient fortifier, fermentation aid, chelating agent, stabilizer. It is used as a boiler water softener, a flame retardant for fabrics, wood and paper, as well as glazes and fluxes. It is used for the production of detergents, cleaning agents for printing plates and mordants for dyeing.

It is used as a stabilizer for hydr bleaching in the printing and dyeing industry and as a filler for rayon (to enhance the strength and elasticity of the filament). It is a raw material for manufacturing sodium pyrophosphate and other phosphates, and also a culture medium for monosodium glutamate, erythromycin, penicillin, strepto and wastewater production and chemical treatment products, etc. It is also used for electroplating and leather tanning.
It is used as a quality improver, PH regulator and nutrient fortifier in the food industry.
