Product Description
Trisodium phosphate is also known as sodium phosphate or orthophosphate sodium. It is a colorless crystal. The relative density is 1.62. The melting point is 73.4ºC. It is prone to weathering. When heated to 100ºC, it loses the crystalline water and forms an anhydrous substance. The relative density is 2.537 (17.5/4ºC). The melting point is 1340ºC. It dissolves in water and almost completely decomposes into disodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium in the aqueous solution. The aqueous solution is alkaline and has a certain erosive effect on the skin. It does not dissolve in ethanol and disulfide carbon.
It is used as a soft water agent and detergent in industries such as chemical engineering, textile, printing and dyeing, papermaking, power generation; as a boiler scale inhibitor; as a soft water agent in paper dyeing; as an acid-base buffer for the adhesive used in producing glossy paper; as a fixative agent during printing and dyeing; as a silkening enhancer for fabrics; as a anti-fracture agent for wire production. In the metallurgical industry, it is used for chemical oil removal and decontamination, as a corrosion inhibitor or anti-rust agent. In the enamel industry, it is used as a fluxing agent and a decolorizing agent. In the leather industry, it is used as a fat remover for raw hides and a degumming agent. It is used as an excellent accelerator in photographic developing solutions. As a tooth cleaning agent and a detergent for bottles and containers. As a coagulant for rubber milk. As a purifying agent for sugar juice.
